NS-063 Canary is a striking opaque lemon yellow. It is well suited for stringers and blown work. It is not very sensitive to flame chemistry, but it is still best to avoid over-reducing flames. Canary is heat-sensitive, however, so it must be handled carefully to avoid boiling, although it has less tendency to boil than Asian yellow, for example. Encasing with transparent is another method of masking the color, but not necessary.
Northstar rods of first quality are visually inspected to the highest quality standards.
These rods are 5-8 mm in diameter and 40-50 cm long. The weight fluctuates around 40 grams.
Rods without a size label have a standard weight, length and thickness. Rods with size label L are heavier and can be either longer or thicker. Bars size label S weigh slightly lighter and may be shorter or thinner.
